too loyal or bias?

October 3, 2006

Well, it seems like Year of the Cats (or Felidae family to be scientific???) for the collegiate basketball in the country. Two weeks after the San Beda Red Lions prowled on their prey, the PCU Dolphins in NCAA, the UST Growling Tigers just licked their wounds after the painful Game 1 loss and devoured the Eagles of Ateneo in two straight games to become the UAAP 69 men’s basketball champions.

Thanks to dodong_79 and green arrow of the manilatonight.com forums for being the UAAP version of NBA Live Scores, because I have no other means to know the latest updates of the game. That’s why I was so eager to go home to watch the news on how the Tigers squeezed past the Eagles in a very tight and intensed ball game. I haven’t removed my shoes off for I was patiently waiting for TV Patrol of ABS-CBN to broadcast the Sports News. However, blackout struck! It wasn’t an electricity blackout, but a news blackout. Deal or No Deal came in way too early for its usual airtime. Oh well, the owners of the ABS-CBN, of the Meralco, of the Maynilad and a long list of companies were Katipunan-based. In short, they came from the losing team of Ateneo. Was it a powerplay or just smart enough to cover up the loss?

It just proves that the Lions and the Tigers are the kings of the Animal Kingdom…and not homo sapiens.
